Card announced for Chairmans challenge
|
With the Chairmans Challenge only days away NZWPW.CO.NZ was informed today of the full roster for this unpredictable event. We say unpredictable, we mean unpredictable. With 18 wrestlers vying for the right to call himself, the undisputed best wrestler in New Zealand, the night is sure to be more than what you would normally expect. I'm fired up, the boys are fired up, we really have nothing to do now but make sure we are prepared for a full on night. (D-Hoya) Words from the New Zealand Heavyweight Champion who could find himself facing anybody, Rufguts? Travis Banks? The Ram or could he even reignite long forgotten battles with X-Rated. He could potentially find himself facing anyone. I dont care who we go against the Maori Boyz are here and we are ready for anyone!!!! (Hoakxz and Hazardiz) In a show that has the potential to go anywhere could good friends like Hoakxz and Hazadiz find themselves facing each other? it is more than possible. I'm planning to do what i do best, wow the crowds and leave them, and my opponent Starstruck (JC Star) The one time number 1 contender could have his hands full with Levi or will he be facing wrestling veteran Roger Ventura, the only way to know is to be there. The nights only announced match is one that could be as unpredictable as the rest of the night. A woman known as Stella Hammer made her entrance into NZWPW at Right to Challenge where she interupted Misty, the self proclaimed best woman in New Zealand wrestling. We expected to see these two woman go head to head but instead Stella Hammer is set to team up with Misty to face the team of Mel and Rose Capri. While the sisters Mel and Rose have the sisterly advantage over the two bigger women, may we find that size is no match for family ties? The names of the 18 wrestlers set to face of in a series of random matches where members of an unbiased panel, which will include members of the crowd will pick the undisputed top ten of New Zealand Wrestling are displayed to the right.

X-Rated aiming to be the best
|
X-Rated started training as a wrestler at the young age of 5 by his uncle Max Taogaga also known as "Siva Afi". Siva Afi was trained by the late Peter Maivia. X is the former NZWPW Catchweight Champion who had endless battles with the now NZWPW Champion D-Hoya. A veteran in the NZ wrestling scene, X has been in numerous promotions in Australia. X-Rated was also asked to trial for WWE in 2008. It has been close to 5 years since the last time I stepped into the NZWPW ring. Since then there have been some un-resolved issues that have been bottled up that I will gladly take out on my opponent. Bring on any wrestler... I don't care if you're 7" tall or 4" tall, bring your "A" game to the ring. X is going to take this "Chairmans Challenge" seriously and no doubt be number 1 in NZ... just watch this space FAFA's... |
The ram to make his first appearance in over a year
|
It’s been a while since I have been in the ring, so I am looking forward to this event. It will give me an opportunity to show some little punk what this business is really about. |
Roger ventura to compete
|
Wrestling since the age of 14, Roger Venturer earned his first NZ title in 2004 whilst wrestling for Auckland Based Promotion IPW. Roger However had much bigger goals in mind moving to America to train under ex wwe superstar Booker T. In 2008 Roger returned to our shore's where he won the AWF Commonwealth Title and has since been wrestling in Australia.
NZWPW.CO.NZ asked Roger for his comments on The Chairmans Challenge and he had the following to say. "I'm very excited about it, i've spent the majority of 2009 puttin' the whoopin' to wrestlers all around Australia, but as they say, home is where the heart is, so i feel it's time Ventura comes back across the tasman and hands out some whole-hearted ass beatings and in doing so, im headed straight for the best compeition New Zealand has to offer. I haven't wrestled in New Zealand since 2008, this September, Roger Ventura will return to the nation's captial and hand out some top-shelf grade A ass kickings!" |

Chairman's Challenge!
|
NZWPW Chairman and Wrestling promoter Martin Stirling has issued a statement over the recent NZPWI's Top Ten NZ Wrestler rankings I (Martin Stirling) hereby issue a challenge to the chosen wrestlers from NZPWI's recent honours list of the "Top Ten Wrestlers" in New Zealand to participate in a tournament in Wellington to be hosted by NZWPW; during this tournament a new voting panel will be formed to create a new Top Ten Wrestlers honours list. Travel, accomodation and other costs incurred by invitees will be taken care of by NZWPW. Tournament rules 1. Two representatives from each participating promotion will be selected 2. Four audience members will be randomly chosen at the tournament to also sit on the panel 3. If any of the invited wrestlers are unable to attend then the wrestlers from NZWPW will fill the vacant spots This newly formed panel will be transparent and fair as I believe that an accurate account could not be ascertained from the previous panel as they were not in attendance at every show and due to the "Panel Confidentiality Rule" we do not know who was on the panel and if the selection that was made was completely un-bias. If any of the other promotions would like to run their own Top Ten Tournament then NZWPW will definitely be happy to support. Kua Takoto Te Manuka - The Challenge Has Been Issued Regards Martin Stirling - NZWPW Chairman |

The Ram is a former New Zealand karate champion and a veteran of professional wrestling. He is one of the pioneers of the wrestling scene in Wellington and has trialled for the WWE.
Earlier this year, New Zealand wide Pro Wrestling Chairman "Martin Stirling" laid down a challenge to the top New Zealand wrestling Talent. With this challenge bringing no reply NZWPW has sent out an invite to all New Zealand Wrestlers to Attend our September event. Who will be attending this event is still to be determined but be assured you will see some of New Zealands top wrestling talent in action including D-Hoya, Rufguts, JC Star and many others.
